Children's Discovery Museum

Ruby is still down for her afternoon nap...yes...at 6:15 PM she's still napping. She and Adam went to the Children's Discovery Museum today. I had a hair appointment in downtown San Jose so they dropped me off on their way and I walked to the museum to meet them afterward. They were in the Little Water Way exhibit when I arrived. When Ruby spotted me, she ran over with a huge smile on her face, her arms wide open and water dripping from her entire upper body, face and hair. I got wet but it didn't matter. It was a fantastic mom moment. Adam said she had a blast! I wish I had some photos but 1) we forgot the camera and 2) we left after that because she didn't want me to put her back down and she was absolutely exhausted. Apparently 3 hours at the museum is a great way to tucker out a 14 month old. I can't wait to take her back again.

Since there aren't any photos from today, I'll post some from the past few weeks. We went to the beach house for our fall weekend. Ruby loves it there. She's been twice before but spent the first weekend laying on a play mat and the second weekend within her crawling radius. This time she was all over the house, inside and out, and was completely obsessed with the beach and ocean. I took her to the beach on Friday before Adam arrived. She would've run straight in if I let her. Instead she face planted in the sand and water. She was soaked from head to toe with a face full of wet sand and all she wanted to do was go back in the water. Notice a pattern here? She's definitely Adam's kid.

She also played with Scott's new turntable:

Celebrated Carolyn's birthday:

Carried a bucket of sand around the house:

And climbed in and out of a chair 100 times:

Unrelated to the beach house, I got a cute photo of Norah and Ruby the other day. You know how they say that girls who hang out together end up having the same cycle? These girls hang out so much they are starting to dress alike.
