What's Gymnastics?

Since I'm off for the summer, Ruby and I have a lot of time to hang out. We operate best when we have one activity per day. Most of our week is filled with play dates, story times, special summer activities at the park and Grandma time (AKA my day to run errands). We had one free day so I signed Ruby up for gymnastics. I was so excited I couldn't wait for her to wake up from her nap. When I told her, she got a huge smile, clapped her hands, jumped up and down, explained she was making a surprised face and asked, "What's gymnastics?" Haha!

Her first class was last week. Even with some explanation, I don't think she fully understood so she really didn't care one way or the other. As soon as we went into the building, that all changed. She was fascinated with all the other kids and equipment. When it was her turn, she jumped right up and joined the instructor.

Last week she was the only one in her class. She and the instructor spent 30 minutes together going around to all the stations. Toward the end, she apparently asked the instructor if she could "play with the big kids." He agreed and they joined the four year old class. Ruby is so tall, you couldn't even tell!
