On Friday there was an egg hunt in my classroom so I took Ruby and Ella in for a visit. Both girls were great and had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. Two girls and one grown up makes picture taking a little tricky.
Since Easter lunch turned into nine people including non family, I decided I needed to actually decorate the house. That's tricky with Ruby around so I dropped her off to play and have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Note to self, think of a reason to do this every Saturday. Ruby loved it. Grandma and Grandpa loved it. Adam and I cleaned, got things ready for the next day and watched a movie. Win, win, win.
When Ruby got home that night, we quickly colored Easter eggs. It was a nightmare last year. Colored water, eggs and patience are all a little tough for a three year old. It was better with an almost four year old but it's still not my favorite.
This year I bought the girls matching Easter baskets that we can reuse. Ruby knew about them so we turned it into a stocking type thing. She decided where to leave the empty baskets in hopes that the Easter Bunny would stop at our house. She also decided to leave him carrots and chocolate milk. Interesting combination. Even more interesting that she decided she should have some chocolate milk as well. Adam was more than willing to help so he could "make sure the chocolate milk was okay" for Ruby.
Sunday was fantastic but busy. Or maybe it just feels busy with a baby. Either way, we spent the day hunting for eggs, eating candy, going to the park, visiting with friends and family, eating yummy lunch (with homemade pizza since Grandma gives it up for Lent), eating yummy desserts (since Auntie and I give them up for Lent), going for a walk, checking out the Treasure House, cleaning up and going to bed. We don't have a lot of tradition at Easter but I'd be happy if we did this same thing every year.
P.S. A few days later Ruby got an awesome card in the mail from Aunt Maria and Aethura with sticker faces to put on the eggs. She loved it. Thanks!
sounds like a great day!
