Dance Show

Ruby, Auntie and I went to see one of my coworkers in a tap show. The afternoon got off to a rough start. For the first time ever, Ruby didn't take a nap. She often plays in her room before she falls asleep. Usually I just let her play until she finally sleeps. She still wasn't asleep by the time we had to leave so I grabbed her and off we went. Luckily, she love, love, loved the dance show.

My coworker warned me that they were doing one dance to Thriller and would be dressed up as monsters. As anyone who knows Ruby would guess, she not only wasn't scared, she thought the monsters were fantastic. She especially loved the guest star who we called the "daddy in a mask." As a matter of fact, she loved him so much she was shouting for the "daddy in the mask" for the rest of the show. I had to take her out of the auditorium when a sweet, young girl was doing a ballet dance and Ruby was yelling, "Where daddy in the mask? I want daddy in the mask!"

She's been talking about the "daddy in the mask" ever since. She's also into putting on her own dance shows. The other night she was super sad when Adam left for swimming. I let her stay up for a few extra minutes so she could see him before bed. While we waited, she turned on the clock radio and I had to stand up to be in the dance show. This is her dance show outfit:
