Toy Story on Ice

We were supposed to go to Disneyland last week.  Unfortunately, little Ella had bronchiolitis and a double ear infection.  We went through all the scenarios and decided to reschedule our trip for my next school break.  The easy part was changing all our travel plans.  The hard part was telling Ruby.  She doesn't actually know the difference between Tuesday and April but she was over the moon with excitement.  We told her the news and gave her an Ariel doll she'd "been wishing for."  She took it like a champ.

I still had the week off so I wanted to plan something fun for her.  Toy Story on Ice was in town and Adam works two blocks away now.  We bought tickets and planned a date night for the three of us.

Ruby and I took the train to San Jose to meet Adam.  We could've ended our night there.  She was so excited to ride the train.  She even wanted to get our dinner to go and eat at the train station.

Here she is at the show.  Nice smiles for pictures are a thing of the past so this is the best we could get.  Like the big stain on her shirt?  Note to self, never buy those ridiculous snow cones at HP Pavilion.  They are overpriced, impossible to eat, make a sticky mess and she didn't really like it anyway.

Here she is waiting for Adam to bring back a present.  She doesn't always get a present but she's a serious Toy Story fan and we've never seen a Lotso before.  She's yelling, "Lotso, where are you?"

And this is what happens when you let a three and a half year old stay up past her bedtime.  It was a nice quiet drive home.

The night was extra special because it's been a while (3.5 months to be exact) since the three of us have had a night out together.  We'll have to remember that and have special moments alone with both of the girls.
