10 and 11 Months

Ella is 11 months old!  I seriously can't even believe it.  We went to a birthday party for friend who is two weeks older than Ella.  I got choked up singing "Happy Birthday" because Ella is next.

Here are some tidbits about her:
  • She eats anything and everything.  We have about 10 jars of baby food that she has to finish but otherwise she eats table food.  You can tell when she really likes something because she gets a huge smile on her face.  The other night carrots and potatoes from our pot roast rocked her world.
  • If you make a bottle, she'll drink it.  If you don't, she doesn't really notice.  I think that's a good thing since we will officially be done with bottles in two weeks.
  • She sleeps well and naps well...most days.  One night she wouldn't go to sleep.  She kept yelling and crying from her bed.  I went in to try to calm her down but she was pissed.  I tried to rock her but kept trying to nose dive out of my arms.  I put her down and she slammed the door against the wall and ran out of the room.  I have no idea what to do with a kid who doesn't sleep.  I asked Ruby.  She didn't know either.  We put her back in the bathtub and started the bedtime routine all over.  It worked.  Thank goodness.
  • She's a big girl.  She's wearing 12-18 month clothes and needed new shoes because her feet are bigger than Ruby's were when she first started walking.
  • She's an official walker.  She walks like Frankenstein.
  • She thinks it's hilarious to body slam me when I'm on the floor.
  • She "talks" all day long.  We think she uses "mama" correctly.  She also started to growl.  That's funny since Ruby went through a growling phase too.
  • She touches her head, nose and belly (sometimes) on demand.
  • She loves the remote and cell phones.  She puts both of them up to her ear like she's talking to someone.
  • She loves looking at pictures and watching videos of herself.
  • She has two bottom teeth and two top teeth.  Teeth never bothered Ruby.  They bother Ella.
  • She thinks Ruby is hilarious.  Her favorites are when Ruby says, "You want to have a water fight?" in the bathtub and when Ruby pretends she's a dog.  Both warrant belly laughs.
  • She is so easygoing.  We can run errands, go for walks, pick up Ruby and go out to dinner.  She does whatever we need and is super happy the entire time.  We're so lucky.
How is it possible the next post will be one year?
