Gymboree

Thanks to Grandpa Stone, Ruby and I started going to a music class at Gymboree last week. To say she loves it is an understatement. She sings, dances, and plays with the instruments (her favorite). Anytime we ask her about Gymboree, she stops in her tracks, busts a move and says, "da da da" which we think means "dance." After music class, she plays on the equipment until the next class starts and then we share a bagel at the shop next door. Today she sat in a real chair, drank a real milk and kept asking for my half of the bagel with "chee" on it.

Even though I've spent the last seven years teaching five and six year olds, it is absolutely amazing to experience life with a toddler. It is crazy to see what Ruby learns and remembers. At the end of music class, we sing a goodbye song. This morning when the teacher started the song, Ruby turned to me, pointed to her hand and said "bee." The teacher stamps their hands after the goodbye song and last week the stamp was a bee. I didn't even think about the stamps but Ruby remembered immediately. To round out the story, the stamp today was a dog. Ruby sat down by the teacher and said, "ruff ruff." She's already making us proud =)
