Adam and I took Ruby to Ohio last year but decided we would stay in California after that so Ruby could celebrate in her own house. I spent the entire year knowing we weren't going home and dreading a holiday without my family. Lucky for me, that didn't happen. Grandpa Stone planned to come down for the day. Grandpa Gary was happy to escape the cold so Grandma O'Brien stayed here. Auntie and Uncle Kevin planned their trip to Mexico with his family for two days after Christmas. Uncle Zach and Maegan drove from Utah. And, the topper, Grandpa O'Brien visited the week before Christmas. Our house was full of people from December 19 to New Year's Eve and again today if you count our first play date of 2010. I feel like I swept, vacuumed and did enough dishes for an entire year already and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Ruby had a blast the entire time. Everyone loved playing with her and she loved playing with everyone. Here are some of the highlights:
It was a fantastic holiday and the best gift I could've received. The only thing missing was the rest of our family, professional cleaners and two week vacations for lawyers. We'll work on that for next year.
P.S. The holiday wouldn't have been the same without Adam's cooking. I signed him up to cook for three parties without even asking him. Thanks love! Everything was delicious!
