Imagination

Ruby's imagination is amazing these days. She's always pretending to go to park, the store or to school. She tells us goodbye, gives us kisses, tells us she'll be back in a few minutes and runs around the couch.

A few weeks ago, she started pretending with her pink lovey. Sometimes it's a ball for her dog Crockett, a double stroller for her bear and baby Lucas (a girl baby doll in a pink dress), a slide or a present that we have to unwrap. One day she had Grandma O'Brien tie it around her waist and said it was a ballerina dress. Apparently ballerina dresses go well with 49ers hats which she calls her marching band hat.

She introduced Norah to the ballerina dress as well.

She's also been really into making lists lately. The car seat guru gave me a piece of paper when he checked her forward facing car seat. She carried the paper around for a week saying it was her list. When you ask her what's on the list, she always starts with cookies. One morning last week, she made a list and told Grandma O'Brien she was going to the grocery store.

She must've had a lot of shopping to do because she needed her vest, her Crocs and her Sesame Street knee and elbow pads...all on top of her pajamas.

It's good to be prepared.
