Linden Tree is a cute bookstore. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. After the show, Ruby saw a little boy "riding" on a life size stuffed dog. When he was finished, Ruby wanted to try it. I told her I didn't think it was a good idea and that we should put the dog back. My parent/teacher approach is to get down with Ruby, talk to her about the right way to use the toy and how we should put it back so we don't break it. She was having so much fun it might have even required a, "When I count to ten, we need to put the dog back or we're leaving." Before it got to that point, the sales person decided on a different approach. She literally ran from behind the counter, yelled at Ruby and ran back. Ruby doesn't scare easily but it totally freaked her out. She burst out crying and continued talking about the "scary lady" the entire drive home.
We went back to another concert a few days later but Ruby didn't want to play in the store afterward. As a matter of fact, as soon as the show was over she said she wanted to leave. Cross your fingers no one gets upset with her at IKEA, Pottery Barn Kids or Nordstrom.
