Babies Get stickers

We follow the alternative vaccination schedule for Ruby. I don't have any objections to the actual vaccines but felt like the regular schedule called for a lot of vaccines at one time. I hate shots so the thought of poking an itty bitty baby many times in one visit seemed scary to me. Not to mention, how would you know about reactions if they have four shots? Anyway, Ruby hasn't been to the doctor since she was 2 and won't go again until she's 3. For some reason I picked up our Dr. Sears vaccination guide and realized she needed a shot when she was 2 and a half. Woops!

Without a doctor's appointment as an excuse to got to PAMF, I had to tell Ruby the truth about our visit. I explained that she needed to get a shot to stay healthy. She was sad to hear it and told me she didn't like shots. I told her I didn't either but sometimes we have to do things we don't like. Then I told her the best part about getting shots...the lollipops! She was sold and happily walked into the doctor's office. She told the injection nurse that "babies get stickers and big girls get wowipops!" A lollipop is well worth a cry free visit to the doctor.

She didn't stop with the injection nurse. She told this nice boy and his mother as well. Fortunately, they thought she was cute.
