Ruby is cracking us up lately. Sometimes it's because she's a smarty pants but we love it all the same. Here are just a few things that I remember:
One day I was on the telephone. Ruby pointed to the wall and said, "No Mommy. That sign says no talking on the phone." There was no sign. She made it up. Apparently there are also signs that say "no taking pictures" and "no looking at your phone". Lucky for us, Ruby falls for her own tricks. One morning she was playing with a balloon. She wanted to take it to the pool for swimming lessons. Adam and I both said no but she kept asking. I finally said, "That sign says no balloons at the pool." She put it down and walked out the door.
Ruby is so active she can't be bothered to sit still and eat. We set a timer during dinner so she knows how long she has to sit in the chair. Toward the end of dinner one night, Ruby hopped out of her chair saying, "I want to go sit by my daddy. I love my daddy. I miss my daddy." We were both so touched at her sweetness that we didn't say anything about getting out of the chair. She walked over to the couch, cuddled up to Adam and said, "Hi daddy. You turn on Scooby Doo for me?" Haha!
Ruby still loves every minute she can get in the bathtub. She has more toys than any kid needs, sits up, stands up, lays on her back, lays on her tummy...she's all over the place. Since her bathroom is attached to her bedroom, I usually stick her in and then go get her pajamas and bed ready. One night I walked back in the bathroom and caught her taking a big gulp of tub water. I gave her a big talk about dirty bath water, getting a tummy ache, throwing up, having to call the doctor, etc. When I was done, I asked if she was going to drink the bath water again. She looked right at me and said, "I do it when you leave."
