Children's Discovery Museum

Adam's firm moved to a new building in December so I suggested we visit him one Friday.  Ruby loves to play with all the tchotchkes in his office so she was sold immediately.  He showed her the view, gave her some post it notes and a pen and we walked to lunch.  Ella slept.  Ruby drew.  Adam and I talked.  It was nice.

Adam had to get back to work so Ruby, Ella and I continued on to Starbucks for a treat.  As we walked back to the car, Ella was starting to wake up.  I needed to change and feed her.  I quickly ran through my options - drive home with her likely crying, go back to Adam's quiet office, or change and feed her in the car.  None of those options sounded very good...especially with a three year old in tow.  Then I got the bright idea to go Children's Discovery Museum just down the street.  I knew they would have a place to change diapers and sit down to feed Ella.  I also knew that it would be exciting enough that I could convince Ruby to hang out with me while I took care of Ella in return for an afternoon at the museum.

It turns out Friday afternoon is the perfect time to visit.  The place was empty.  Ruby had a blast.  Ella enjoyed the view from the stroller and carrier.  And best of all, I did it by myself!  It was a turning point in my life as a mom of two.  Some days are trickier than others, but we're definitely getting our groove back.
