Before Norah arrived, Ruby picked out her outfit and put Curious George down for a nap.
The girls celebrated St. Patrick's Day at a nearby coffee shop. Grandma reports that she opted out of the green bagel option.
Before nap time, the girls worked on their rendition of Lady Gaga's Pokerface.
When I got home from school, Ruby was just waking up from a 3.5 hour nap. Grandma O'Brien and Norah left because it makes Ruby so sad to say goodbye. When I went upstairs to get her, the first thing she said was, "Norah?" She was so sad. Fortunately, she quickly snapped out of it so we played chase back and forth from our bedroom to the spare bedroom.Since she'd taken a long nap and it was absolutely beautiful outside, we made plans to meet Adam for dinner. When I told Ruby we were going to have dinner with Dad, she said, "Scott." I asked if she wanted to call Scott. She said, "Yes." I asked if we should invite Scott to dinner. She said, "Eat." I asked if Ruby wanted to eat dinner with Scott. She said, "Ruby." So, we invited Scott and he walked out of his office.
We had about an hour until dinner so we left to play on Santa Cruz Avenue until then. I thought about taking her to the park or to Cheeky Monkey but she was perfectly happy walking up and down the street. Most of the stores close early which is nice because I don't have to chase her inside and convince her not to touch everything. The hardware store is open late so Ruby tried out all the lawn chairs by pulling them to the middle of the sidewalk before sitting down. She was so tickled to find a panda and elephant chair. She showed her affection by hugging the elephant.
Dinner was a success (which was a relief after having to leave a restaurant last Friday) and she still had energy so we walked over to Draeger's. While Adam and I grabbed a few things, Ruby and Scott checked out the flowers and the wind chimes. Scott taught her how to touch them gently with one finger.
Everything after that was standard issue bedtime routine stuff except she has three lovies, a blanket, a bear and "Farfallina and Marcel" in bed tonight. Who knew having a 20 month old would be this much fun?

I knew. And I bet Pam knew too!
