Dinner

Ruby helped me make dinner tonight:

She even helped me do the dishes and clean up!

We started eating before Adam got home from work. When he walked in the door, we were in the middle of a conversation. It went something like this:

Ruby: Done! Read upstairs.
Me: Do you want a graham cracker before we go upstairs to read?
Ruby: Yeah.
Me: Here's the last graham cracker.
Ruby (after dropping her graham cracker on the floor): Birds, birds. Eat.
Me: The birds ate your cracker?
Ruby: Yeah.
Me: When did the birds eat your cracker?
Ruby: Park. Throw.
Me: Oh, you mean at the library on Friday when someone was feeding the ducks?
Ruby: Yeah. Library.
Me: Who was with you at the library?
Ruby: Grandma. (Grandma did take Ruby to the library).
Me: Right, who else was with you at the library?
Ruby: Scott. (Scott was not at the library).
Me: Scott was with you at the library? Who else was there?
Ruby: Daddy. (Adam was not at the library).
Me: Who else was at the library?
Ruby: Mommy. (I was not at the library).
Me: Who else was at the library?
Ruby: Everybody! Everybody! Everybody!
Me: Everybody was at the library?
Ruby: Yeah. Done. Read upstairs. Daddy's bed.

The three of us went upstairs for a cuddle fest on our bed. Adam and I laid down while Ruby got on and off the bed looking for "new book, new book, new book". Her favorites tonight were "The Pessimists Guide to History", "How Math Explains Everything" and an O'Reilly book on PHP. The books were clearly from Adam's side of the bed =)
