Halloween

Even though it's a little late, I wanted to write about Halloween because we had a fantastic day.

Adam and I were actually at the beach house for the weekend so Ruby started her day with Grandma O'Brien. They went to a Halloween celebration at the Menlo Park Library. Ru-Bee made another appearance for a concert with Andy Z. She now has a signed copy of "Scarecrow, Where Do You Go?" and it's been a bedtime staple all week.

We got home while Ruby was eating lunch. Unfortunately, we might have gotten her a little too excited because she didn't take a nap. I can only think of two times she hasn't taken a nap and Halloween was one of them. After two and a half hours of playing in her room, we realized we actually didn't want her to fall asleep. We got her up, put on our costumes and headed over to the GVZs for a Halloween celebration. It was a blast from the moment we stepped foot in their house. The kids played, the grown ups ate and the Giants won.

The kids totally got into trick or treating this year. I don't think they really cared about what was going in their bags or baskets but they loved going up to the houses, shouting "trick or treat" and seeing all the decorations. We went around one block. By the end, the grown ups were exhausted and the kids wanted to keep going. Ruby totally lost it when Adam told her it was the last house. Not surprisingly, she calmed down when we promised she could have one piece of candy if she went back to the house. She chose a lollipop. She's never had candy before. It was love at first lick. Thanks GVZs! We'll see you next year...whether you're having a party or not.

Thank you too K Dog Studios. I stole a few pictures in case you didn't notice =)
